It influences how we interact with one another, how we conduct business, how we learn, and how we proceed from day to day. Not only has the Internet changed the way we interact, but it has also changed the evolution of society as a whole in a short span of time. As a result, Internet Engineering is an area that is growing exponentially and the demand for Internet Specialists is rapidly increasing.

Objective

The Internet Engineering programme aims at producing engineers who will spearhead the design and direction of Future Internet architecture, infrastructure and applications. This programme equips graduates with advanced and profound concepts that underlay the design and implementation of Internet-based system. It provides a solid multidisciplinary basis and offers a wide range of specialization opportunities, which can stimulate the creative energies of students. In addition, students will also acquire practical skills that are crucial for entering the job market.

Entry Reqirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Telecommunication) / Computer Science / Information Technology or related field with minimum CGPA of 2.5 (on 4-point grading scale) or minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on 10-point grading scale) or minimum of Second Class.
• Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Telecommunication) / Computer Science / Information Technology or related field with minimum CGPA of 2.5 (on 4-point grading scale) or minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on 10-point grading scale) or minimum of Second Class AND three (3) years of working experience in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in other fields not mentioned above but with three (3) years of working experience in a related field and minimum CGPA of 2.5 (on 4-point grading scale) or minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on 10-point grading scale) or minimum of Second Class.

Language Reqirements

All candidates must fulfill the English Language requirement. A TOEFL score of 550 or IELTS Band 6 or MUET Band 4 is required.

Full Time: Min 1 Year / Max 2 Years

This programme is by course work only. Candidates must pass 32 credit hours of following courses; 28 credit hours of core courses and 4 credit hours of an elective course.

Study Pathway Upon Completion


Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Engineering graduates may transfer all credits to MSc. in Internet Engineering programme offered by partner universities with the recommendation of the Faculty’s Postgraduate Committee. Candidates can enroll into the research-based final semester of study in the MSc. in Internet Engineering programme at partner university like International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW)
