Overview

The Internet Engineering programme aims at producing professionals who will spearhead the design and direction of future Internet architecture, infrastructure and applications. This programme equips graduates with advanced and profound concepts that underlie the design and implementation of Internet-based systems. In addition, students will also acquire practical skills that are crucial for entering the job market. "This programme provides a solid multidisciplinary basis and offers a wide range of specialization opportunities, which can stimulate the creative energies of students."


Entry Requirements


A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Electrical, Electronic, Computer and/or Telecommunication Engineering / Information Technology or related field with at least a CGPA of 2.5 (on 4-point grading scale) or CGPA of 6.5 (on 10-point grading scale) or Pass with minimum Second Class; OR Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Engineering with at least a CGPA of 2.75 (on 4-point grading scale). (Candidates from Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Engineering may transfer all credits taken under the Postgraduate Diploma with the recommendation of the Faculty Postgraduate Committee); OR Fulfill other entry requirements that are recognised by the University Senate; AND Pass IELTS with minimum Band 6, or TOEFL with minimum score of 550 or MUET with minimum Band 4

MyBrain15 was established to recruit and develop a pool of talented, high-caliber intellectuals in the country with the objective to spur the growth of research and innovation. Under the "MyBrain15" initiative, the Malaysian government has recently set a new goal to produce 60, 000 Malaysian PhD holders by the year 2020.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or government-recognized equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

  • Value of scholarship

  • Study fees of up to RM10,000 for 24 months paid directly to the institution

  • MyPhD:

  • Master's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 OR

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50

  • Relevant working experience that is accepted by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

    RHB Study Loan

    RHB Study Loan covers full-time and part-time courses approved by the Ministry of Education and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam for both local and overseas education.

    Loan coverage

    There are 2 loan packages available, the minimum coverage is RM20,000 and maximum is up to RM500,000.

    CIMB Bank

    This loan is given for students who want to study locally or overseas for the courses (Diploma, Degree, Masters and PhD) which are approved by government.

    Eligibility criteria

    Joint borrower between the students and one co-borrower. Acceptable co-borrower are: Parents, siblings, relatives or guardians with adequate repayment capacity. Student must be 18 years old or above.

    Loan coverage

    The loan covers minimum of RM10,000 to maximum of RM100,000 of course fees.
